- 作品解説: 画面上半分に岩と滝、下半分に三匹の香魚が描かれている。岩の側面に咲く淡いピンクの花は池上秀畝の出身地に自生するシナノナデシコ （信濃撫子） と思われる。香魚は様々な角度から捉えられ、ここにも秀畝のこだわりがうかがえる。横山大観らによる輪郭線を抑えた朦朧体の表現の影響も見てとることができる。Description: A rock and a waterfall are depicted in the upper half of the painting, and three fish are depicted in the lower half. The pale pink flowers on the side of the rock are thought to be the native Japanese nadeshiko (Shinano nadeshiko) of Hidempo Ikegami's hometown. The fragrant fish are captured from various angles, which also shows Hidempo's attention to detail. The influence of Yokoyama Taikan's "fuzzy" style, in which outlines are suppressed, can also be seen in this work.
