- 作品解説: 小室翠雲は1917（大正8）年頃より、箱根の地に別荘を建て、長興山と名付けた。本作は、ここでの制作とあるが、この程度の簡易な図柄であれば翠雲は写生をせずに描くことができたにちがいない。地面は描かれていないが、木の根元が表現されているところをみると、上から見下ろした俯瞰構図であるところがわかる。Description: Around 1917, Suiun Komuro built a villa in Hakone, which he named Chokoiyama. Although this work was created here, Suiun must have been able to paint a simple design like this without sketching. Although the ground is not depicted in the painting, the roots of the trees indicate that it is a bird's eye view composition looking down from above.
