- 作品解説: 熱海の伊豆山より相模湾と伊豆半島を望んでいる。高台から俯瞰した構図で、左側手前に松を配して景色を立体的かつ複雑な味わいがでるように組み立てている。爽やかな空や海の青は少し緑味を帯びた、柏亭独特の青といってよいであろう。夏の開放感がよく出ているが、この数か月後には太平洋戦争が始まると考えると、その落差に驚かされる。Description: A view of Sagami Bay and the Izu Peninsula from Mount Izu in Atami. The composition is a bird's-eye view from a hill, with a pine tree in the left foreground to give the view a three-dimensional and complex flavor. The refreshing blue of the sky and the sea is tinged with green, a blue unique to Kashiwa-tei. The openness of summer is well expressed in this painting, but when one thinks of the start of the Pacific War a few months later, one is surprised at the difference.
