- 作品解説: 霜よけの藁囲いが施された寒牡丹。それをのぞき込むように鶯が竹の枝にとまっている。胡粉で描かれた雪がちらつき、まだ冬の厳しい寒さは残るものの、春の訪れを感じさせる作品となっている。Description: Cold peonies are surrounded by a straw fence to protect them from frost. A bush warbler perches on a bamboo branch as if peering into it. The snowflakes painted with gofun (a Japanese confectionery powder) flicker in the background, reminding us of the coming of spring, even though the harsh cold of winter still lingers in this work.
