- 現在の神戸市中央区から須磨区にかけて繰り広げられた源氏と平氏の激戦一の谷の合戦を描いた錦絵です。<BR/>描いたのは、江戸時代後期、19世紀前半を代表する武者絵の名手・歌川国貞です。<br/><BR/>画面の向かって左には、平家の若武者・平敦盛と熊谷直実の戦いの様子、右には平忠度と岡部忠澄の戦いが描かれています。海、白砂青松、六甲山系を思わせる山々。。。神戸の実景に近い景観の中で、主要人物は歌舞伎役者が見得を切るような姿でダイナミックに描かれます。『平家物語』で人口に膾炙した源平合戦の古地としてのイメージは、江戸時代に多作されたこれらの錦絵によってさらに補強されていきました。<br/><br/>【中世の神戸】【江戸の絵画】This nishikie depicts the fierce battle of Ichinotani between the Minamoto and Taira clans that took place between present-day Chuo and Suma wards of Kobe City. <BR/>The painting was done by Utagawa Kunisada, a master of warrior paintings representing the late Edo period and the first half of the 19th century. <BR/><BR/>The left side of the painting depicts the battle between the young Heike warrior Taira Atsumori and Kumagai Naozane, while the right side depicts the battle between Taira Tadatoshi and Okabe Tadasumi. The sea, white sand, green pines, and mountains reminiscent of the Rokko mountain range. The main characters are dynamically depicted as if they were Kabuki actors cutting a pose in the midst of a landscape that is close to the actual Kobe landscape. The image of Kobe as an ancient battleground of the Genpei War, popularized by "The Tale of the Heike," was further reinforced by the prolific production of these nishiki-e works during the Edo period (1603-1868). <br/><br/>[Kobe in the Middle Ages] [Edo period paintings
