あなたがたの考え（善悪）は紙に書かれる。この紙きれを火にくべよう。紙が燃えたらその考えこそ過ちとなる。紙は炉に投げ込まれ、しばらく火の中にあったが、やがて焼けも焦げもせずふわり、ふわりと飛びだしていく。楽園に神が生ぜしめた（花も葉もめだたぬ）善悪を知る一本の木。その木から（禁じられた果実と同じく）紙きれも作られたのである。

Your thinking (good and evil) is written on a scrap of paper. Let's say we throw this paper into the fire. If the paper burns, we will know that those thoughts were mistaken. The paper is tossed into the fireplace and rests a while in the fire, but eventually floats gently, lightly away, without being neither burned nor charred. A single tree that knows good and evil, that God created (where flowers nor leaves barely stand out) in the pleasure garden. The scrap of paper is also (like the forbidden fruit) made from that tree.
