- サンドは、チーターを2頭飼っていたが、他のネコ科の猛獣にも情熱を傾け、様々な姿態をとらえた。豹の彫刻は、2本の前脚と頭部だけで構成したタイプもある。素材と技法は、他に黒大理石の直彫り、またブロンズでは金色のパティナを部分的に用いたり、孔をあけたりと、凝った手法でこの動物の華麗さと迫力を表現している。Sand had two cheetahs, but he also had a passion for other feline beasts of prey and captured them in a variety of forms. Some types of leopard sculptures consisted of only two front legs and a head. Other materials and techniques include direct carving in black marble, and in bronze, elaborate techniques such as partial use of golden patina and perforations are used to express the splendor and power of this animal.
