- 作品解説: 鹿児島県の吐噶喇 （トカラ） 列島に属する諏訪之瀬島は、火山島として有名である。現在の人口は 100 人を切るが民宿が数軒ある。当時の寺田は旅行で訪れたのであろうか。海岸線には隣りの平島が見える突堤で、三度笠を被った釣人が一人竿を出している。その周囲には烏四羽がバラバラに留まり、愛嬌のあるシルエットを作り出している。複雑で不思議な海の色と突堤のセメントとの対比が美しい作品である。Description: Suwanose Island belongs to the Kagoshima Prefecture's Tokara Islands and is famous as a volcanic island. The current population is less than 100, but there are several guest houses. Terada may have visited Suwanose Island on a trip in those days. A fisherman wearing a mikado hat is fishing on a jetty where the neighboring Hirajima can be seen on the shoreline. Around him, four ravens are perched in disarray, creating a charming silhouette. The contrast between the complex and mysterious colors of the sea and the cement of the jetty is beautiful.
