- 作品解説: 款記に「南田翁の法に倣う」とあるのは、清初頭に活躍した南画家・惲南田（うんなんでん・1633-1690）であろう。花鳥画の名手で清初六大家のひとりで、惲寿平（うんじゅへい）と一般的に呼ばれる。南田は号で、白雲外史も惲寿平の号のひとつ。枝にとまる小禽のアングルや枝ぶりが南田の花鳥画と通じるものがある。カイドウの木に鳥がとまった。重みで枝がしなり、バランスをとるために尾っぽを上げる、そんな一瞬をとらえたのだろうか。 唐の時代、楊貴妃がほろ酔い加減で眠そうにしているのを眺めた玄宗皇帝が「カイドウの眠りいまだ足らず」と言ったことから、カイドウは妖艶（ようえん）で美しい人を象徴するようになった。ただし、尾の長いこの鳥は出世や長寿を意味する綬帯鳥（じゅたいちょう）であることから、ここでのカイドウは父母や一族を象徴し、代々繁栄が続くようにとの願いが込められた絵となっている。 画面の右下に「南田翁の法にならう」と書かれたその人は、中国・清の時代に活躍した南画家・惲南田（うんなんでん）であろう。花鳥画の名手で清初期の六大家のひとり。枝にとまる小禽をとらえる角度や枝ぶりが南田の花鳥画と通じるものがあり、様々な表現を吸収していた翠雲の勤勉さがうかがえる。Description: The inscription "Following the method of Master Nantian" on the inscription is probably by Nantian painter Un Nantian (1633-1690), active in the early Qing dynasty. He was a master of flower-and-bird painting and one of the six great painters of the early Ch'ing dynasty, and is commonly referred to as Yun Ju-ping. Nantian is his given name, and Baiyun Gaishi is one of his given names. The angle and branching of the small birds perched on the branches are similar to Nantian's flower-and-bird paintings. A bird perches on a kaidoo tree. The bird perched on the branch and raised its tail to keep its balance. In the Tang Dynasty, Emperor Xuanzong saw Yang Guifei looking sleepy and tipsy, and said, "The kyoudou has not slept long enough. However, since this bird with a long tail is a jutai-chou, which means success in life and longevity, the kaidou here symbolizes the parents and the family, and the picture is filled with the wish for continued prosperity from generation to generation. The person whose name is written in the lower right corner of the painting, "Following the Law of Master Nantian," is probably the Chinese painter Yun Nantian, who was active in the Qing Dynasty of China. He was a master of flower-and-bird painting and one of the six great painters of the early Qing dynasty. The angle at which he captures the small birds perched on the branches and the branching of the branches are similar to Nantian's flower-and-bird paintings, and Cui Yun's diligence in absorbing a variety of expressions is evident.
