- 作品解説: ブーダンやモネが住んでいた町としても有名なノルマンディー地方の港町、オンフルール。間口の狭い家が何軒も連なる特徴的な街並みが形成されている。実際の家々は一軒ごとに色が異なるが、今関はほぼ同じ緑色を用いて絵画の一体感を生み出している。褐色系の絵具を薄めてキャンヴァス全体に塗りこめ、その後それぞれのモチーフや空までをも塊として捉えて絵画世界を創造している。Description: Honfleur is a port town in Normandy, famous as the home of Boudin and Monet. A characteristic townscape is formed by a series of houses with narrow frontage. Although the actual houses differ in color from one to another, Imazeki used almost the same green color to create a sense of unity in the painting. Imaseki creates the world of the painting by applying a thin layer of brownish paint to the entire canvas, then capturing each motif and even the sky as a mass.
