- 作品解説: アテナイの小高い丘に位置するアクロポリス。紀元前 438 年に完成したギリシャ神話の女神アテーナ―を祀るパルテノン神殿は、この作品では遠くから小さく捉えられ、空が大きな割合を占めている。人間の英知、神の存在、そして地球を含む宇宙空間と、建造物だけでなくより大きな世界観を表現しているようだ。作品の表面には柔らか目の刷毛の毛が残っている。おそらく最終段階で透明色を薄く塗った際に抜けた毛であろう。小さな作品に様々な技術が駆使されている。Description: The Acropolis is located on a small hill in Athens. Completed in 438 B.C., the Parthenon, dedicated to the Greek goddess Athena, is seen from a distance in this work, with the sky occupying a large proportion. The work seems to express not only the architecture but also a larger worldview: the wisdom of man, the existence of God, and outer space including the earth. On the surface of the work, there are still some soft brush strokes. These hairs were probably shed when the artist applied a thin coat of transparent color in the final stage. Various techniques are used in this small work.
