- 作品解説: 実の娘を描いたものと思われるので、制作年代は今西の晩年である 1946 年頃であろう。自宅にて水彩絵具の運筆の練習をしている様子を愛情を込めて描いている。作品が仕上がる直前に鉛筆による子供の落書きのような不規則で強い線描が施されており、画面に複雑な効果を生みだしている。Description: This painting is thought to be of Imanishi's own daughter, so it must have been painted around 1946, in the last years of his life. The artist lovingly depicts her practicing her watercolor brush strokes at home. Just before the work was finished, the artist applied strong, irregular lines, like a child's doodling in pencil, creating a complex effect on the painting.
