- 作品解説: 信州の景色であろうか。生活感のある民家を柏亭はたびたび描いている。絵画用に作られた市販の板を抱えて、良い写生ポイントを探し歩く柏亭の姿が想像される。黒い線でアウトラインを描き、塗り絵のようにそれぞれの色を塗ったあと、さらに茶色の線で描き起こすという手法だが、山の稜線など遠くに位置する線はほとんど原形をとどめておらず淡い色彩で上塗りされているなど、遠近を意識した組み立てが丁寧に行われている。板の色を生かすため塗り残しの部分を設けていることも、表現の奥行きや幅を拡げる役割を果たしているようだ。Description: A view of Shinshu, perhaps. Kashiwatei often painted houses with a sense of life. One can imagine Kashiwatei walking around with a commercial board made for painting, looking for a good sketching point. The artist used black lines to draw the outline, painted each color as in a coloring book, and then used brown lines to draw the outline again. The fact that the artist left some areas unpainted in order to bring out the colors of the boards also seems to have played a role in increasing the depth and breadth of the expression.
