- 作品解説: 黄土色の地面にオレンジや赤の屋根を持つ家々。里見が戦後再渡欧した際にスペインのイビサ島の風景を何作も描いているが、本作もそのシリーズの1点であろう。もう少し丁寧に描かれた作品もある中、本作は粗削りであるが勢いがあり里見の情熱が伝わってくる。下層に水色を塗った層が見えるので、別の絵の上に本作品が描かれたか、あるいはしばらく中断したのちに制作を再会した可能性がある。スペイン額をアレンジした額縁に入れられているところも心憎い。Description: Houses with orange and red roofs on ochre-colored ground. When Satomi returned to Europe after the war, he painted a number of landscapes of Ibiza, Spain, and this work is probably one of the series. While some of his works are more carefully drawn, this work is rough and vigorous and conveys Satomi's passion. The light blue layer of paint on the lower layer suggests that this work may have been painted on top of another painting, or that the artist may have resumed work on this work after a short interruption. The fact that it is framed in an arrangement of Spanish frames is also heartbreaking.
