- 作品解説: 70歳を超えた柏亭の作品。穏やかな湖面や川面の表現を特異とする柏亭は、水に大きな関心を寄せていたにちがいない。山に降った雨水が山から浸みだし川となって移動する。姿かたちや場所を変えながら長い年月をかけて生まれ変わる水は、人生にたとえることもできよう。そうした水に対する共感とともに自然の一部として調和し、また独特のリズムを刻みながら流れ落ちるその様子を素直な気持ちで描き切っているところにこの絵の醍醐味がある。Description: A work by Kakutei, who was over 70 years old. Kakutei, who is known for his expression of the calm surface of lakes and rivers, must have been greatly interested in water. Rainwater falling on the mountains seeps out of the mountains and moves as rivers. Water can be likened to life as it is reborn over a long period of time, changing form and location. The real appeal of this painting lies in the way it depicts water with such empathy, in harmony with nature, and in its unique rhythm as it flows down the river with an honest feeling.
