- 作品解説: 《白鷺図》 （No.732） と柳の枝ぶりや鷺の恰好が異なるが、同じく琳派風のたらし込みを使用した意匠性の高い技法で描かれている。この伝統的な画題は、当時もある程度の需要があったのだろう。材質感をはじめとする写実的立体的な表現は抑えられ、南画的な軽妙さが意図されているのも、そうした一般の好みに応えているのかもしれない。Description: This work differs from "Egret" (No.732) in its willow branches and herons, but it is painted using the same Rimpa-style tarashikomi technique with a high degree of design. This traditional subject matter was probably in demand to some extent even at the time. The realistic three-dimensional expression, including the sense of material, is suppressed, and the lightness of the Nanga style is intended, perhaps in response to the general taste of the public.
