- ソファーに腰かけたアール・デコのモダンな装いの女性の肖像画。モデルは朝香宮允子妃である。幾何学模様入りのゆったりとした青のデイ・ドレスをまとい、ストライプのハットと真珠の首飾りを身につけ、華やかな姿となっている。1923-25年の朝香宮夫妻の滞仏中に制作されたもので、1923年にマニュエル兄弟写真館で撮影された複数のポートレイトのうち、一枚を元にその翌年に発注された。本作に似た構図の写真は、『皇室画報』（1924年2月号）にも掲載されている。Portrait of a woman in modern Art Deco attire sitting on a sofa. The model is Princess Asakamiya Yuko. She is glamorous in a loose-fitting blue day dress with a geometric pattern, a striped hat, and a pearl necklace, and was commissioned the following year based on one of several portraits taken at the Manuel Brothers photo studio in 1923, during their stay in France from 1923-25. It was commissioned the following year. A photograph with a composition similar to this work was also published in the February 1924 issue of the Imperial Picture Journal.
