- 作品解説: 栃木県奥日光の温泉で知られる川治。山容から本作品の写生地は川治温泉駅付近と推定される。山間の街道で、遠くの山の一部に明るい日が差している。桜の木々は短い筆致で点描のように表現され、花が輝いて見えるように工夫されている。昭和 25 年の第6回日展に 《川治の山峡》 を出品しており、本作はおそらくその際の写生の一点だと思われる。Description: Kawaji is known for its hot springs in Oku-Nikko, Tochigi Prefecture. From the shape of the mountains, the location of this work is estimated to be near Kawaji Onsen Station. The road between the mountains, with bright sunlight shining on a part of the mountain in the distance. The cherry trees are represented as dotted strokes with short brush strokes, making the flowers appear to shine. The artist exhibited "Kawaji's Mountain Gorge" at the 6th Nitten Exhibition in 1950, and this work is probably one of the sketches from that exhibition.
