- 作品解説: 三宅克己は明治 31 年に渡欧して以来、数度に渡ってパリを訪れている。セーヌ河に架かるこの橋は、パリ左岸とシテ島とを繋ぐポン・ヌフであろうか。川面とあまり高さの変わらない位置から写生されいるところから、この絵に限っては、船上からのスケッチや写真撮影により描かれたものである可能性もある。画業後半にみられる、細い筆による短い筆触での描き方ではないので、大正期あたりに描いた作品ではないかと思われる。Description: Katsumi Miyake has visited Paris several times since his arrival in Europe in 1898. This bridge over the Seine may be the Pont Neuf, which connects the left bank of Paris to the Isle of Cité. Since the painting was done from a position not much higher than the surface of the river, it is possible that this painting was sketched or photographed from a boat. The painting was probably painted around the Taisho period (1912-1926), since the brushstrokes are not the same as those used in the latter half of his career, when he painted with short strokes using a thin brush.
