- 作品解説: 本作は「風景」というタイトルで収集されたが、海や山の形状の特徴から伊豆山あたりより熱海や伊豆半島を描いたものと思われる。手前の岩には朱色の花が咲き、周りの芝も鮮やかな黄緑色を呈しているので季節は春から初夏にかけてであろうか。近景は横に長い点描のタッチ、遠景は塗りを中心とした処理で使い分けられている。高台から海を見下ろした風景だけに、中景がないがその急激な遠景への移行も緊張感があって興味深い。Description: This work was collected under the title "Landscape," but the characteristics of the sea and mountain shapes suggest that it depicts Atami and the Izu Peninsula from the Izuyama area. The vermilion flowers on the rocks in the foreground and the bright yellow-green grass in the background suggest a spring or early summer season. The near view is painted with a touch of long horizontal dots, while the far view is painted with a treatment centering on the paint. The landscape overlooking the sea from a hilltop, with no middle ground, is interesting for its sudden transition to the distant view, which also gives the viewer a sense of tension.
