- 作品解説: 富貴花とも呼ばれる牡丹は、水墨画でよく取り上げられる題材である。翠雲は牡丹の花びらを丁寧に一枚ずつ描くのではなく、シルエットのように描きながらたらし込みの技法でグラデーションをつけ、雄蕊の部分に金泥を施して個性的な表現を生み出した。茎の部分も薄墨で描いた後、それよりも濃い墨で重ねて描くことで年月を経た茎の微妙な調子を表している。Description: Peonies, also known as "wealthy flowers," are a common subject in ink and wash paintings. Suiun painted the petals of the peony not one by one, but as silhouettes, using the tarashikomi technique to create gradations, and applied gold mud to the stamens to create a unique expression. The stems were also painted in light black ink and then overlaid with darker black ink to show the subtle tones of the aged stems.
