- 作品解説: フランス、ノルマンディー地方のエトルタは、その海岸をモネが何枚も描いたことでも有名である。また、この近くにはデュフィの故郷、ル・アーヴルがあるなど、印象派以降の画家にとっての聖地でもある。中谷泰は 1960 年代半ばのヨーロッパ旅行の際に多くのスケッチを描き、同時に撮影を行ったが、それを元にした油絵がその後数多く描かれることになった。Description: Etruta in Normandy, France, is famous for the many paintings by Monet of its beaches. It is also a sacred place for post-Impressionist painters, as Le Havre, Dufy's hometown, is located nearby. During a trip to Europe in the mid-1960s, Yasushi Nakatani made many sketches and took photographs at the same time, and many oil paintings based on these sketches have been made since then.
