- 作品解説: 猪苗代湖から磐梯山を望む風景。四隅の画鋲跡から戸外写生であることがわかる。郡山市立美術館に 《冬の磐梯山》 があり、制作年は1918 年 1 月である。長崎県美術館で開催された山本森之助展図録によると、山本は 1918 年に磐梯山の秋や猪苗代湖の秋を描いているという記録があり、1 点本作とほぼ同じ構図の図版が掲載されていることから、本作品はその滞在時期に描かれたうちの一つであると考えられる。青色に白色を混ぜた絵具が画面の多くを占め、その一部は淡い紫色になっており、白馬会・光風会系の画家たちの特色が表れている。Description: A view of Mount Bandai from Lake Inawashiro. The rivet marks in the four corners indicate that this is an outdoor sketch. The Koriyama Municipal Museum of Art has "Bandaisan in Winter" dated January 1918. According to the catalogue of the Morinosuke Yamamoto exhibition held at the Nagasaki Prefectural Museum of Art, Yamamoto painted the autumn of Bandaisan and Lake Inawashiro in 1918, and one illustration of almost the same composition as this work is included, suggesting that this work was one of the paintings from that period. The majority of the painting is covered with a mixture of blue and white paint, some of which is a pale purple color, which is characteristic of the Hakuba-kai and Koufukai painters.
