- 作品解説: 浜離宮恩賜庭園は潮入の池となっており、海水の満ち引きによって表情のかわることで知られている。村上の描くこの庭園の池はコバルトブルーにエメラルドグリーンといった、リゾート地の海を思わせる色彩であり、村上の趣向が伺える。普通の油絵具ではなく、ペンキのような質感を呈しているが、あえてねっとりとした材料や技法を選択したのであろう。本作もドンゴロスのような粗目の麻布の上に描かれている。Description: The Hamarikyu Gardens are known for their tidal ponds, which change their appearance as the sea water rises and falls. Murakami's painting of this garden's pond is cobalt blue and emerald green, colors reminiscent of the ocean at a resort, which is indicative of Murakami's taste. The paintings have the texture of paints, not ordinary oil paints, but rather sticky materials and techniques. This work is also painted on coarse-grained linen like donggoros.
