1. Basic Policy
Independent Administrative Institution National Museum of Art, The National Center for Art Research (hereinafter referred to as the "NCAR") may collects Personal Information (meaning “Personal Information” in Article 2, para.2 of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information Held by Incorporated Administrative Agencies, etc. (hereinafter referred to as the "Act"); the same shall apply hereinafter) of users of the Website to the extent necessary for the smooth operation and enhancement of the content of the services (hereinafter referred to as the "Service") provided at the Art Platform Japan https://artplatform.go.jp; hereinafter referred to as the "Website"). The collected Personal Information shall be handled appropriately within the scope of the purpose of use.
2. Information Collecting Policy
- When using this service, the NCAR may collect the Personal Information such as the name, address, date of birth, e-mail address, etc. of the user by the method of filling in the registration form, etc. on the Website when holding events, or by the method of filling in the application or registration form, etc. for events organized, cooperated with or jointly sponsored by the NCAR.
- The NCAR asks for entering your e-mail address when receiving opinions and inquiries about the Website. You may be asked to enter your name, address or telephone number at your discretion. The sender's entries are also displayed on the recipient's side.

② If an incorporated administrative agency, etc. uses the Retained Personal Information within the agency only to the extent necessary for executing the business provided by laws and regulations, and there are reasonable grounds for the use of that Retained Personal Information.
③ If the Retained Personal Information is provided to the administrative organ, another incorporated administrative agency, etc., local public entity or local incorporated administrative agency in which the person who receives the information uses it only to the extent necessary for executing the processes or business under its jurisdiction provided by laws and regulations, and there are reasonable grounds for the use of that Retained Personal Information.
④ Beyond the cases listed in the preceding three items, if the Retained Personal Information is provided exclusively for statistical purposes or academic research purposes, provision of the information to other persons is obviously beneficial to the relevant individual, or there are other special grounds for providing the Retained Personal Information. - The NCAR shall be entitled to provide the Retained Personal Information to third parties as stipulated below for the purpose of use as stipulated in Paragraph 3.
① Agency for Cultural Affairs
② Expert committee members to be appointed by the NCAR for the smooth operation and promotion of the Services.
③ A third party commissioned by the NCAR to produce the website.
5. Safety Measures
The NCAR will take the necessary measures to prevent the leaking, loss, or destruction of the collected information, and will also take the necessary measures to properly manage the collected information.
6. Scope of Application
This Privacy Policy applies only to the Website and the Service. The processing of information with related organizations is the responsibility of each organization.

The NCAR may revise this Privacy Policy as necessary.
