Description: Jirokichi Kasagi was said to be a phantom painter, but in recent years his works have been found in the United States and other countries, and he has returned to his hometown. He is said to have been born in Ishikawa Prefecture and lived in Yokohama. His works were purchased by foreigners as souvenirs, and his preparatory sketches were destroyed by fire in the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923. The daughter's cape is shelving in response to the flow of clouds. The fishermen working in the background are clearly depicted, and no corners have been cut, but the painting still retains its freshness as a watercolor. The work is backed with paper, and on the reverse side, there are traces of a woman blowing a conch shell. It is not known when this was done, but it appears to have been kept in storage on top of the back of the painting.
