- 作品解説: 左手前に白い帽子に赤いリボンをつけた女性がクローズアップされ、右手にはゴンドラとそれを漕ぐ船頭が数組描かれ、その奥にヴェニスの古い建物が広がっている。空と水はいずれも白とエメラルドグリーンが画面で混色され、右上にはカモメが飛んでいる。ヴェニスの賑やかな様子が表されているが、永遠に続く歴史の途上の刹那をとらえた、儚さも同時に感じさせる。Description: A woman wearing a white hat and red ribbon is in close-up in the left foreground, a gondola and a couple of boatmen rowing it are on the right, and old Venetian buildings are in the background. The sky and water are both white and emerald green, and seagulls are flying in the upper right. The painting depicts the bustling atmosphere of Venice, but it also evokes a sense of transience, capturing a moment in the course of the city's eternal history.
