- 作品解説: 先を尖らせた鉛筆による繊細な線で風景の大まかなアウトラインを描き、丁寧に色味を調合した絵の具で岩や樹々などそれぞれを塗り分けている。この画用紙の周囲には、額縁のマットで隠れて見えないが、試しに塗った絵の具の筆跡が切手シートの周囲にあるカラーマークのように並んでいる。この作品のような緻密な水彩画は失敗するとやり直しができない。水彩画ブームの波に乗り、忙しい合間を縫っての制作だったのだろうが、全身全霊を傾ける制作姿勢が伝わってくる。Description: The artist drew the general outline of the landscape with delicate lines using a pointed pencil, then painted each rock and tree with carefully mixed colors. Around the perimeter of the paper, although hidden by the mat of the frame, the brushstrokes of the trial paints are lined up like the color marks around a postage stamp sheet. If a detailed watercolor painting like this one fails, it cannot be redone. Riding the wave of the watercolor boom, the artist must have taken time out of his busy schedule to create this work, but it conveys his wholehearted devotion to his artwork.
