Description: Haiku poem by Suiun, "Kawauryu uta no kodamon naru kumo no koro ni naru koro ni (?)" ("When the clouds are no longer singing"). This work is a haiku by Suiun, "Kawaryu-uta no Kodama ni naru Kumo no Koro ni" (?), accompanied by a drawing of thistle. The stems and leaves of the thistle are shaded in the same color, and the veins and thorns are simply and descriptively drawn in black ink. Below, the ground is lightly painted with thin strokes of grass, creating a very naturalistic atmosphere. Suiun was deeply involved in the publication of "Nanga Appreciation," and this work is a model for general ink lovers.
