- 作品解説: 陸軍省は戦意高揚目的で1940年に12人の画家を中国各地へ派遣したが、その中に清水良雄が含まれていた。東京国立近代美術館には清水による1941年制作の《杭州南星橋碼頭に於ける鹵獲品陸揚》があることから、杭州から近い蘇州の斜塔（虎丘の雲岩寺塔）のようにも見えるが、壁面の色が異なる。おそらく短時間で描いたスケッチ風の作品であるが、修正部分が少なく勢いがあり、清水の確かな技術が伺える。Description: In 1940, the War Ministry dispatched 12 painters to various parts of China for the purpose of raising war spirits, and Shimizu Yoshio was among them. The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo has Shimizu's "Landing of Captured Goods at Nanxingqiao Wharf in Hangzhou" from 1941, which appears to be a leaning tower in Suzhou (Yunyan Temple Pagoda in Tiger Hill), near Hangzhou, but the colors on the wall are different. Although the work is in the style of a sketch, probably painted in a short period of time, there are few corrections and the work is vigorous, indicating Qing Shui's solid technique.
