Renewal of Contemporary Japanese Art Exhibitions from 1945
With the generous cooperation of all those involved, Contemporary Japanese Art Exhibitions from 1945 has been updated with additional exhibition information.
In this update, new datasets have been added based on sources including Nihon no Bijutsu Tenrankai Kiroku: 1945-2005 [Art Exhibitions in Japan: 1945-2005] (edited by the National Art Center, Tokyo; supervised by Nakajima Masatoshi) and Art Festivals and Art Projects in Japan (edited by the Nonprofit Organization Art & Society Research Center).
A total of 8,375 new records have been released, bringing the cumulative number of entries to 10,856.
We hope this resource will serve as a useful reference for information on Japanese art exhibitions, art festivals, and art projects held in Japan and abroad in the postwar period.
For the release of this dataset, we received generous cooperation from Nakajima Masatoshi, the Non-Profit Organization Art & Society Research Center, and the National Art Center, Tokyo.
We would like to express our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to all concerned.
