- 無色透明のガラスを型に吹き込み成形し、その外側に紫色ガラスを被せた墨台。その名の通り、擦りかけた墨を置くための台です。紫色ガラスは、酸化マンガンによって発色しています。天板(てんばん)には霰(あられ)文、側面には麻の葉文がほどこされています。天板部分にうっすらと残る被せガラスが、無色ガラスの透明性を強調し、よりいっそう輝きを増しています。一方で、半円形の装飾がみられる脚部分は、棒状工具を往復研磨することで表したとは思えないほどの仕上がりです。厚さ３mm程の紫色ガラスを被せた側面にみられるぼかしの表現が秀逸です。<br/><br/>【びいどろ・ぎやまん・ガラス】An inkstand made of colorless, transparent glass blown and molded into a mold and covered with purple glass on the outside. As the name suggests, this stand is used to place rubbed ink. The purple glass is colored by manganese oxide. The top panel is decorated with a hail pattern, and the sides are decorated with a hemp leaf pattern. The faintly cased glass on the top emphasizes the transparency of the colorless glass, making it shine even more brightly. On the other hand, the semi-circular decorations on the legs are so well finished that it is hard to believe that they were created by grinding back and forth with a stick tool.
