- ガラスを発色させる着色剤に金を用いた、通称「金赤」のガラスを、無色のガラスに被せた（２層になっている状態）徳利。蘭と菊の装飾は、グラヴュールという工具を用いて施されています。この技法は、回転する円形の金属板（あるいは石版）にガラス器の表面を当てて、浅く削るようにして文様を施していきます。菊の葉をみると、葉全体を薄く、その後葉脈(ようみゃく)を深く削っていることがわかります。蘭の葉のしなやかに伸びる曲線が、巧みな彫りによって表わされています。<br/><br/>【びいどろ・ぎやまん・ガラス】A tokkuri made of colorless glass covered (in two layers) with gold, commonly known as "gold-red" glass, which is used as a coloring agent to make the glass colorful. The orchid and chrysanthemum decorations are applied using a tool called a gravure. In this technique, a rotating circular metal plate (or tablet) is placed against the surface of the glassware and the pattern is applied by shallow scraping. The chrysanthemum leaf shows that the entire leaf is thinly shaved and then the veins (veins) are deeply shaved.
