- 日本図の背景に青磁釉を施した円形皿。天地には、染付による羽を広げた鶴が添えられています。鶴は長寿の象徴であり、吉祥文様の一つです。日本図は、型押しによって凹凸を付け、国境線は染付によって表わされています。各々の国には、塗りつぶした札のようなものが配されていますが、よくみると国名が白く抜かれていることに気付かされます。これは、あらかじめ墨で文字を記し、その上に染付を施して焼成することで、墨の部分が白抜きになる「墨弾き」という技法によるもの。伊万里焼の地図皿には、染付の青が鮮やかな作例が多い中で、淡く落ち着いた印象を受ける作品です。<br/><br/>【近世・近代の漆工・陶磁器・染織】【古地図】Celadon glazed circular dish with a background of Japanese painting. The top and bottom are decorated with a crane with outstretched wings in underglaze blue. The crane is a symbol of longevity and one of the auspicious motifs. The Japanese design is stamped with an uneven surface, and the border lines are represented by underglaze blue. Each country is marked with a painted tag, but if you look closely, you will notice that the name of the country has been whitewashed out. This is due to a technique called "sumi-nuki," in which sumi ink is used to write characters in black ink in advance, and then the ink is applied to the surface and fired to remove the white.
