- 今戸は隅田川の西岸で、都鳥の名所でした。『江戸名所図会』に、「今戸には、土をこね、瓦造りならべてほしければ やかぬまは露やいとはむ下瓦 杉風」とあるように、瓦焼きは今戸の名物になっていました。Imado is located on the west bank of the Sumida River and was famous for its birds. As stated in "Edo Meisho Zue" ("Edo Meisho Zue"), "In Imado, if you knead clay and make kawara (roof tiles), you can see the dewdrops and the cedar winds in the lower part of the tiles.
