- 作品解説: 1980年代から90年代にかけて、村上の描く人物像や人形は軽妙さと色彩の鮮やかさが増したが、本作にもその特徴がよくあらわれている。少女の視線はこちらを向いていない。おそらくモデルとして描いたのではなく、街中で見かけた、大胆でセンスの良い服を着こなす少女を憧れのまなざしで見つめ、記憶を頼りに描いたのかもしれない。Description: From the 1980s to the 1990s, Murakami's portraits of people and dolls became increasingly light and colorful, and this work is no exception. The girl's gaze does not look at us. Perhaps Murakami did not paint the girl as a model, but rather, she may have looked longingly at a girl she saw on the street dressed in bold and tasteful clothes, and painted her based on her memory.
