- 作品解説: サイトウミュージアムにはブローニュの森を描いた作品が二点ある。もう一点は鬱蒼とした森を描いているが、本作は空が大きく取られた、公園のなかでも開かれた場所で描いたようである。濁った色彩でありながらも、ベルギーの画家ジェームズ・アンソールを彷彿とさせる美しい組み合わせで統一感がある。手前にいる人物はNo.1524の《公園にて（パリ）》の手前の表現と少し共通点がある。空にローマ字の跡がいくつか観察できるが、何か上に置かれて文字が転写されてしまったのかもしれない。Description: There are two paintings of the Boulogne Forest in the Saito Museum. While the other depicts a dense forest, this work seems to have been painted in an open area of the park with a large expanse of sky. Despite the muddy colors, there is a sense of unity in this beautiful combination, reminiscent of the Belgian painter James Ensor. The figure in the foreground has a little in common with the foreground expression in No. 1524, "In the Park (Paris). Some traces of Roman letters can be observed in the sky, but the letters may have been transferred by being placed on top of something.
