- 作品解説: 作品の裏面には《東京タワーの見える風景》というタイトルの記録の他に《夜の街》というタイトルもディーラーのラベルに制作年とともに書かれている。村上自身が途中でタイトルを変えたのか、あるいは関係者によってタイトルが変更されたのかは不明である。 おそらく高い場所から街を見下ろしたのであろう。上部の空が赤く夕暮れ時を描いているのかもしれない。タイトルにある東京タワーがあるのかどうかさえ判別がつかないが、わざわざこのタイトルがラベルに書かれているということはこの絵の具の起伏のいずれかがそうなのであろう。Description: On the reverse side of the work, in addition to the recorded title "View of Tokyo Tower," the title "City at Night" is also written on the dealer's label along with the year of production. It is unclear whether Murakami himself changed the title during the process, or whether the title was changed by someone else involved. The artist probably looked down on the city from a high vantage point. The sky at the top may be red, depicting dusk. It is not even clear if there is a Tokyo Tower in the title, but the fact that this title is deliberately written on the label suggests that one of the undulations in the paint is the one in this painting.
