- 作品解説: 手前の台には柿や蜜柑や水差し、背景の壁には花に少女と象をあしらったタピスリーが掛けられている。柏亭数少ない静物画のうちの1点である。陰影や立体感は抑えられ、シックな色彩でまとめているところを見ると、装飾的な絵画を意図して描いたのかもしれない。大阪の画廊・美交社のラベルが裏面木枠に貼られており、そこには「日本藝術院会員」の文字が見られる。柏亭が会員となったのは1947年であり、キャンヴァスや絵具の劣化も軽度であることから、本作は1950年頃の作品であると推定される。Description: Persimmons, mandarin oranges, and a pitcher of water on a stand in the foreground, and a tapestry with a girl and an elephant among flowers hangs on the wall in the background. This is one of Kashiwatei's few still-life paintings. The shadows and three-dimensionality are restrained, and the chic color scheme suggests that the artist may have intended the painting to be decorative. A label from the Osaka art gallery Bikosha is affixed to the wooden frame on the reverse side, where the words "Member of the Japan Art Academy" can be seen. Kashiwatei became a member in 1947, and since the canvas and paint are lightly deteriorated, this work is estimated to have been painted around 1950.
