- 作品解説: 石井柏亭 35,6 歳頃の水彩画。青と明るい茶色の対比が美しく、形も大らかに捉えられている。大正期、ヨーロッパで勃興した表現主義に見られるような、色彩を解放した作品が脚光を浴びていた中で、柏亭もおそらく村山槐多ら若い世代の力みなぎる作品を見て何か思うところがあったであろうし、色彩的な派手さもこの作品には見られるが、やはり自己を無理に逸脱せずに作画する姿勢がこの画家らしい。Description: A watercolor by Ishii Kakutei, age 35-6. The contrast between the blue and light brown colors is beautiful, and the shapes are captured in a generous manner. During the Taisho period (1912-1926), when the expressionist movement that emerged in Europe was gaining prominence with its liberal use of color, Kashiwatei must have had something in mind when he saw the powerful works of the younger generation, such as those of Keita Murayama. The painter's attitude is typical of the artist.
