- 作品解説: 鉛筆によるデッサンを施し、バックを青い水彩絵具で塗る方法は、中西作品の他の作品にも見られる。この爽やかな青は、紙の地色とデッサンのモノクロームの世界を壊さず作品に色どりを与えている。迷いのない伸び伸びとした輪郭線は、形態把握と瞬時の記憶が優れているからこそ可能であり、陰影の付け方も素早い筆致で絵画的バランスを取っている。女性の膝の上付近などに、別の手の形などが映っているが、これはスケッチブックの前のページで描いた跡が拓本のように移っているものと思われる。Description: The method of applying pencil sketches and blue watercolors for the background is also found in other works by Nakanishi. This fresh blue color gives color to the work without destroying the ground color of the paper and the monochrome world of the drawing. The artist's grasp of form and instantaneous memory are the key to the smooth outlines of the painting, and the quick brushstrokes of the shading add balance to the painting. The shape of another hand is reflected near the top of the woman's knee, but it is thought to be a rubbing of the mark from the previous page of the sketchbook.
