- 作品解説: 清の時代にラサのポタラ宮（ラマ廟）を手本に作られた熱河のポダラ宮。石井柏亭は 1941 年、満州国美術展覧会の審査のために渡満し、その途中でスケッチしたものと思われる。石井は 1938 年に戦争記録画作成のために上海などを訪れているのでこれが２回目の中国大陸訪問である。この熱河のポダラ宮には 1938 年、藤島武二や安井曾太郎がやはり満州国美術展覧会の審査員として渡満し、その途上で訪れていることから、この地の評判を石井は彼らから聞いていたのかもしれない。塔の間から遠景が覗く石井らしい構図である。Description: The Podara Palace on the Atka River was modeled after the Potala Palace (Lama Temple) in Lhasa during the Qing Dynasty. Ishii Kakutei traveled to Manchuria in 1941 to judge the Manchukuo Art Exhibition, and it is believed that he sketched this work during his trip. This was Ishii's second visit to mainland China, as he had already visited Shanghai and other cities in 1938 to make war record paintings. In 1938, Takeji Fujishima and Sotaro Yasui also visited Podara Palace in Atohe on their way to Manchuria as jurors for the Manchukuo Art Exhibition, and Ishii may have heard about the reputation of this place from them. Ishii may have heard about the reputation of the area from them. The composition is typical of Ishii, with the distant view peeking out from between the towers.
