- 作品解説: 本作品は制作年代から、三宅の第５回渡欧の際に描かれたことがわかる。同年、第６回帝展に《カーニュの寺》 を （おそらくヨーロッパから郵送にて） 出品している。凹凸のある水彩用紙に鉛筆にて概略を素描し、淡いクリーム色で建物や手前の土坡を塗り、その上から緑や壁の茶色を、その画用紙の凹凸を利用して塗り重ねている。もっとも明るい部分は紙の白を利用するのではなく、水彩絵具の白を塗って強調している。Description: The date of production of this work indicates that it was painted during Miyake's 5th visit to Europe. In the same year, Miyake exhibited "Temple of Cagnes" (probably by mail from Europe) at the 6th Teiten exhibition. He painted the outline in pencil on uneven watercolor paper, then painted the buildings and the dirt path in the foreground in light cream, and overlaid the green and the brown of the walls using the unevenness of the paper. The brightest areas are not painted with the white of the paper, but with the white of the watercolors to emphasize them.
