- 作品解説: 黒い雄鶏と白の雌鶏、そのそばには勢いのある若竹。仲睦まじい夫婦に若々しい竹の組み合わせは、家庭の円満や健康を願った、吉祥画である。鳥類を得意とする秀畝だけあり、その描写は動きがあり巧みである。印章の左下が欠けていることから、画業後半の作品ではないかと思われる。Description: A black rooster and a white hen, flanked by vigorous young bamboo. The combination of the friendly couple and the young bamboo is an auspicious image, wishing for family happiness and good health. The depiction of birds is skillful and moving, as Hidempo excelled at depicting birds. Since the lower left side of the seal is missing, it is thought to be a work from the latter half of his career.
