- 作品解説: 中国原産の秋海棠は初秋に開花する。下のほうにはトノサマバッタが一匹とまっている。輪郭線はごく細い墨を用い、葉には青のグラデーションがかけられ、葉の外側にも柔らかい影が施されている。さらに葉脈には細く金泥が引かれている。このような描き方を荻邨は明治末から大正期にかけて多くおこなっていることから、本作も荻邨初期に位置するものと思われる。Description: The Chinese Tang Tang flower blooms in early autumn. A single flying grasshopper is perched on the lower part of the tree. The outlines are outlined in very fine black ink, and the leaves are covered with a gradation of blue, with soft shadows on the outside of the leaves. In addition, the veins of the leaves have been delicately painted with gold paint. This work seems to be from Ogison's early period, as he often used this style of painting from the late Meiji to Taisho periods.
