- 作品解説: 太い刷毛で滝の水以外のところを一気に塗り、白く抜けた部分を滝と見立てている。手前には老木の紅葉が緑から朱色へと変化する様を暈しを巧みに用いながらグラデーションを生み出している。その枝には小禽が二羽留まっており、瞳に光沢を湛えた愛嬌のある表現で、松林桂月ら同時代の画家と異なる秀畝らしさがある。Description: A thick brush is used to paint all the areas of the waterfall except for the water, and the white areas are used to represent the waterfall. In the foreground, the gradation of the autumn leaves on the old tree, changing from green to vermilion, is skillfully created with the use of vertigo. Two small birds are perched on the branches, and their charming expression with shiny pupils is different from that of other painters of the same period, such as Matsubayashi Keigetsu.
