- 作品解説: 牡丹の茎や葉は琳派風、花はたらし込み技法を用いながらわずかに色を加えている。左上の蝶は反転しているように見えるが羽を下に向けている瞬間なのかもしれない。一般に馴染みのある画題でありながら、詩的な感覚を入れるところに秀畝の感性が見て取れる。Description: The stems and leaves of peonies are in the Rimpa style, while the flowers are slightly colored using the Tarashikomi technique. The butterfly in the upper left corner appears to be inverted, but it may be a moment when the butterfly turns its wings downward. Although the subject matter is familiar to the general public, Hidempo's sensitivity can be seen in the poetic sense he added.
