- 作品解説: 歳寒二友といえば、梅と菊もしくは梅と竹の組み合わせがよく見られるが、本図の赤い花は菊ではなく長春花（庚申薔薇）が描かれている。雀が描かれているのは、子孫繁栄や一族の繁栄の象徴であるからなのであろう。新春に飾るにふさわしい画である。Description: The combination of plum and chrysanthemum or plum and bamboo is often seen in "Seasonal cold and two friends," but the red flowers in this painting are not chrysanthemums but Changchun flowers (庚申薔薇). The sparrows in this painting may symbolize the prosperity of offspring and family. This painting is appropriate for the New Year.
