- 作品解説: 「山市」とは「山間の都市や山里の市、あるいは山に現れる蜃気楼」の意味があるそうだが、本作はおそらく中国の名勝地として北宋期以降しばしばとり上げられた瀟湘八景図の画題の一つ《山市晴嵐》の地であり、湘潭市昭山の山里に遠くの冬山を重ねて描いたものと思われる。翠雲画には珍しく、人里離れた民家には、飼料を食べる馬が描かれている。Description: "Mountain City" means "a city in a mountainous region, a city in a mountain village, or a mirage appearing in the mountains." This work is probably the location of "Mountain City and Storm", one of the subjects of the Eight Scenic Views of Soshan, which was often featured as a famous scenic spot in China since the Northern Song period. The painting is a rare example of Cui Yun's work. Unusually for a Cui Yun painting, a horse eating fodder is depicted in a secluded house.
