- 作品解説: 庭にまとまった雪が積もった。これまで目にしていた風景が雪の白で一部が一体化し、新たな形や色彩で視界に広がっている。少し模様のようにも見えるその景色を、石井柏亭は丹念に描写している。もともと陰影や色彩を強調しない画家なのでこの模様のような景色がすんなりとキャンヴァスに収まっていったことであろう。やはり、そうした場所を柏亭は逃す訳にはいかなかったと思われる。Description: A large accumulation of snow has fallen in the garden. The landscape that we have seen so far is partially united by the white of the snow, and spreads into view with new shapes and colors. Ishii Kashiwa-tei painstakingly depicts the scenery, which looks a bit like a pattern. As a painter who does not emphasize shadows and colors, this pattern-like landscape would have fit easily on canvas. It seems that Kashiwa-tei could not miss such a place.
